This past weekend I was able to do a family/infant session with 10 week old Jayce. Any parent will tell you that children grow almost everyday and that is none more evident than the first year. By ten weeks there are no more sleepy poses, children are now alert and following every action and noise with their eyes.
Jayce was such a sweetie. We woke him up from a nap, undressed and re-dressed him a couple of times and he didn't cry once. He was so happy to be in his warm nursery and in the arms of his parents. I look forward to capturing Jayce during the many different stages of his childhood and all the adventures he will have.
When having a infant session there are a couple of helpful hints to make sure you capture priceless images.
One: Have a space heater. Warm babies are happy babies, with Jayce we had his room at almost 80 degrees, we were sweating but Jayce was perfectly content!
Two: Start with the cute infant images and end with family portraits. For older infants there is only so much moving and "posing" they do before they get cranky (I know adults that react the same way during a portrait session). I like to end with the family photos because nothing soothe's a cranky infant like cuddle time with mom and dad!
Three: No Worries! Babies cry, poop, pee and spit up. Learn to laugh and have lots of wipes, changes, and fabrics on hand!
